Transit spaces like escalators become more than mere technological solutions—they are intricate theaters of control, where efficiency, advertising, and psychological conditioning converge.

The use of VR is highly controlled - and with a controlled simulation, it allows for an isolation on the space and exaggeration of materials.

What happens when we slow down to see the mass-produced spaces around us?
slow down And see mass-produced spaces
slow down and see mass-produced spaces
My project explores the politics and aesthetics of mass-produced urban spaces. It focuses on transit spaces like escalator tunnels and hallways in public transportation.
Viewers journey through four digital environments that gradually reveal the hidden anatomy of these spaces. Starting with the familiar escalator tunnels of London, New York and big cities, the experience slowly strips away the surface details - peeling back the ads, the tiles, the branding - until eventually left with the bare bones: the roof structure, the escalator mechanics, the essential template that gets copy-pasted across cities worldwide.
As viewers move through this endless loop, watching these spaces dissolve into their core components, they will start to see how these "non-spaces" are built from the same universal blueprint.
